Weed fiends rejoice! The mighty Sleep have returned with their first full length album since the revered weedian chronicle, Dopesmoker, recorded over 20 years ago. In fact, Sonic Titan and Antarctican’s Thawed were written around the same time as Dopesmoker making this album a direct continuation of the hour long saga.

The 20 year gap between these albums doesn’t hinder this epic continuation. In fact, the band sounds better than ever. Frantic sometimes and hypnotic most of the time; this is music that will transport your psyche to other dimensions if you let it. It is more of the same, except it’s more of the same written by road hardened musicians who have honed their skill in the likes of High on Fire and Om to release a confident and significant sequel to the greatest doom or stoner metal album of all time. And that is something worth waiting for.
