Like Donald Glover, the actor turned rapper behind Childish Gambino, this album doesn’t rest. Experimental hip hop that moves, shifts and evolves. It’s a bit like shuffling through a musical genre rolodex and yet somehow it all feels tied to a singular vision. Shuffling from hip hop, soul and funk to a country stomp, a barber shop acapella, and a pretty decent conjuring of Prince.
